1. Prerequisites
You must be using the Shopify Payments Gateway. You can check your eligibility with the Shopify help center information.
2. Instructions
Open the Shopify Settings Page and click on Markets
Click on Add market
Set a market name and select the countries (countries associated with the currencies you wish to have)
Click on Add market
Click on the newly created market and open its Product and pricing settings
Ensure to keep the “Show local currencies” option enabled
2.2. Create a new market for a specific country
Similar to the way you create a market for multiple countries in above topic 2.1, you can only select only one country instead of multiple from the Add a market box.
Note: You don’t have to enable “Show local currencies” option here since this market has only one currency.
2.3. Add a currency switcher to your Shopify store
You can use a third-party Shopify app such as KILATECH Currency Converter to have nice looking currency switcher on your store.
Once you follow the simple 6 steps in the app, you’ll be able to get a nice floating currency switcher.
Further, you can have the currency switcher in your store header with a help of KILATECH customer support.
If you wish to have a country switcher instead of a currency switcher, that option is also available here.
2.4. Display the local currency based on the visitors' location
You can use a third-party Shopify app such as KILATECH Currency Converter to insert this feature to your Shopify store. This is the same app we discussed under the previous topic.
Please get in touch with KILATECH Support if you have any questions or concerns about Shopify Markets or Shopify currency switching.
